Suno doesn't natively think in EDM structures — you have to spell out the build/drop mechanics like you're instructing a DJ.
1. Script the three phases explicitly:
[Build: rising tension, riser FX, snare roll building, filters opening, 8 bars]
[DROP: full bass, huge kick, main hook, maximum energy]
[Breakdown: stripped back, atmospheric]
The words 'riser,' 'snare roll,' and 'filters opening' trigger the actual build sounds.
2. The drop needs CONTRAST. A drop only hits if the build was tense and thin. [Pre-drop: everything cuts to silence for one beat, then DROP] — that one beat of silence is what makes drops feel massive.
3. Name the drop type: bass-heavy festival drop, melodic future-bass drop, hardstyle kick drop — 'drop' alone is vague; the subgenre tells Suno what the drop sounds like.
4. Exclude: weak drop, no build, flat energy.
5. Tempo discipline: 124-130 for house, 140-150 for dubstep-ish, 128 for big room. Wrong tempo = wrong genre feel no matter the prompt.
