Credit burn is almost always a prompting problem, not a Suno problem. Every wasted generation is a vague prompt. Here's how to get it right in 1-2 takes.
1. Write the full prompt BEFORE generating. Style box complete, lyrics finished, brackets placed, Exclude filled. 80% of regens happen because people generate first and think second.
2. Fix, don't regen. Bad lyric line? Replace Section (cheap). Wrong voice on one part? Replace Section. Full regen should be the last resort, not the first reflex — it's the most expensive button.
3. Generate 2 at a time, not 4. Two generations gives you a choice; four gives you decision fatigue and double the cost. Pick the better of two and fix it.
4. Save what works. Every time a style prompt nails it, save the exact wording. Your personal prompt library is a credit-saving machine — proven prompts hit in one take.
5. Draft cheap, finish expensive. Sketch the song's structure with short cheap generations; spend full generations only on the keeper arrangement.
6. Know when to stop. If 3 regens haven't fixed it, the prompt is wrong — not the luck. Rewrite the prompt instead of rolling the dice a 4th time.
