Suno's default energy is 'perform for the back row' — whisper is the opposite direction, and you have to pull hard toward intimacy.
1. Stack the quiet words:
Style: whispered intimate vocal, barely-sung, close-mic, late-night confessional
One quiet word gets overpowered; four quiet words win.
2. Shrink the arrangement. A whisper over a full rock band is a contradiction Suno resolves by belting. [Sparse fingerpicked guitar only, vocal front and center, whisper-quiet] — the band must whisper too.
3. 'Close-mic' is the key phrase. It implies physical intimacy — lips near the mic — and consistently produces the breathiest, nearest vocals.
4. Exclude the belt: powerful vocal, belting, big chorus vocal — even in a big chorus, if you want intimate, ban the belt words.
5. Write whisper-shaped lyrics. Short lines, soft consonants, no exclamation. 'Stay with me' whispers; 'STAY WITH ME TONIGHT!!!' doesn't, no matter the style box.
