Same root problem as the rap issue: Suno's default is singing. Spoken word needs the melody explicitly switched off.
1. The magic phrase: Style: spoken word, NOT sung, natural speaking voice, conversational — 'not sung' is non-negotiable. Without it, you get singing.
2. Write prose, not verse. Rhyming couplets get sung; paragraphs get spoken. If your 'spoken' intro rhymes, rewrite it as natural speech — the lyric shape tells Suno the delivery.
3. Bracket every spoken section: [Spoken: warm radio-host voice, conversational, no melody] — per-section, every time.
4. Describe the speaker: deep calm narrator voice, energetic podcast host — a character reads; a 'vocalist' sings. Never call them a vocalist.
5. Keep music minimal underneath: [Spoken over soft ambient pad, music low, voice prominent] — if the music swells, Suno starts singing over it. Voice up, music down.
