Classic mix drift — Suno's mix is stable for about 90 seconds, then each new section pushes the energy up: kick gets harsher, more layers pile on, and the vocal gets buried under all of it. The song doesn't get worse; the mix gets more crowded.
1. Anchor the mix in the Style box: balanced mix throughout, controlled kick, vocal stays forward from start to finish. 'Throughout' and 'stays' are the operative words — they tell Suno the mix is a constant, not a ramp.
2. Never write energy-escalation words. Building, bigger, massive drop, epic finale — these instruct the exact drift you're hearing. If you want dynamics, write them as brackets on specific sections instead.
3. Generate the first 90 seconds, then Extend. Your perfect 90 seconds becomes the reference — Extend continues from that mix instead of drifting from a 3-minute average.
4. Exclude the drift: harsh kick, distorted drums, buried vocal, muddy buildup.
5. Stems fix: Get Stems on the finished song — the drift is usually just the drum stem getting louder. Pull drums down 2dB after 1:30 (automate it) and lift the vocal 1-2dB. Fifteen minutes, permanent fix.
