Suno LOVES reverb — especially on vocals — and words like 'ethereal,' 'atmospheric,' and 'spacious' turn the cave up to eleven. Drying out is about removing invitations and stating 'dry' explicitly.
1. Cut the reverb-bait words. Ethereal, atmospheric, spacious, vast, dreamy, floating — every one of these adds reverb. If any are in your prompt, that's the cave.
2. Say 'dry' out loud: Style: dry intimate vocal, close-mic, minimal reverb. 'Close-mic' is the magic phrase — it implies a small dry room.
3. Exclude: heavy reverb, echo, cavernous, washed out.
4. Describe the room small: small dry studio, tight room sound — give it a room with no space for echoes.
5. Stems rescue: if the vocal stem is drowning, you can't un-reverb it fully — but you CAN duplicate the vocal stem, keep one dry-ish copy up front, and the blend will sound drier. Or generate the vocal part again with dry wording and comp it in.
