Track order is invisible when it's right and painful when it's wrong. The classic rules:
1. Open strong, close strongest. Track 1 should be your second-best song — it hooks the listener. The final track should be the most emotional or epic — it's what they remember.
2. Never stack three slow songs. Alternate energy: up, down, up, mid, down, up. Energy valleys are fine; energy flatlines are not.
3. Mind the keys and tempos. Two songs in the same key back-to-back blur together. If Suno gave you five songs in A minor, separate them.
4. Front-load the singles. Put your most playlist-friendly songs in positions 1-3 — most listeners never reach track 8.
5. Length guide: EP = 4-6 songs, album = 7-12. More than 12 and you're testing patience, not showcasing range.
6. The listen-through test. Play the sequence start to finish, doing something else. Anywhere you get bored or reach for skip — that's a sequencing problem. Move it or cut it.
